Ka-Ro featured on Glyn booth @ electronica in Munich – from 11th to 14th November

Our Ka-Ro team is not there in person but in spirit – with Glyn our distribution and technology partner. Anyone who hasn’t had a chance to check out our joint product with the Ka-Ro CoM and Starter-Kit plus the Glyn TFT with module connector can do so at the Glyn booth (hall A5 / stand 115). Ka-Ro and Glyn have been partnering for over three years now and application engineers have quickly come to appreciate this efficient and time-saving innovation which allows them to activate a TFT within 10 minutes.

Ka-Ro Jumps Ahead with 3.16 Linux Kernel


We’re proud to be a very active developer in the Linux kernel community, so here’s just a quick reminder about the full integration of the Linux 3.16 stable kernel into the TX CoM family. We’ve unified our releases across the Ka-Ro TX CoM range, starting with the TX28, TX48 and TX53 and including our dual- and quad-core flagship TX6. So all our Ka-Ro CoMs profit from enhancements in speed, power management and new features and bug fixes which the latest kernel boasts.


Additionally we’ve adopted Freescale's i.MX6 Yocto distribution private patch set to our 3.16 Linux Kernel BSP, enabling designers deploying the TX6 to jump one step ahead and exploit enhanced graphical features, like accelerated video playback and OpenGL.


It goes without saying that we will continue to further provide patches to the kernel for hardware adoption and bug fixes creating an easy adoptable, broad and unified platform.
